Why I started Tender and Claim
Tender and Claim grew out of years on construction projects, working alongside experienced quantity surveyors, engineers and contractors.
On the best-run projects, the QS set up a clear structure from day one: a detailed BOQ with supply and installation priced separately on every line, a tracker for what was installed each day, and payment certificates checked against the same lines.
We saw how much easier that made things for everyone, and how hard it was without it. Many contractors didn’t see how that BOQ structure helped them quote, track and measure their work. Some quoted lump sums, or put supply and installation into one figure. At claim time nobody could measure what was actually due. When the project ran late, there were no records to support an extension of time claim.
The contractors who adopted the structure were paid faster and argued less. Tender and Claim puts that same structure into ready-to-use templates, so both sides have it easy at every stage, from the first quote to the final certificate.
