A complete control system BOQ template in Excel for PLC, DCS and SCADA projects. It covers controllers, I/O, remote I/O, panels, power supplies, networks, servers, HMI hardware, software licences, engineering, FAT, site commissioning, training, documentation, spares and support. Use it as a client, QS or engineer to issue a control system tender, or as a system integrator to price one.

Control system quotes are hard to compare when every bidder groups hardware, software and engineering differently. This BOQ gives every bidder the same structure, line by line, so offers can be compared like for like.

What’s included in the control system BOQ

137 line items across 13 bills and 27 sections
Bill 1 Preliminaries & Project Management: fixed and time-related items

Panels, enclosures and power supplies, including UPS and power distribution
Networks and communications: switches, firewalls, fibre, third-party interfaces and accessories
Servers, workstations and HMI hardware: SCADA / HMI, historian, asset management, domain and remote access servers, operator and engineering clients
Software and licences: runtime licences, engineering and system software
Engineering and application development: design documents, controller and sequence programming, screens, trends, reports, alarms, historian and interface configuration
Factory acceptance test (FAT), delivery, site services and commissioning

Built for real tenders

Supply rate, install rate and S&I rate on every line, with supply, install and total amounts. Engineering and services lines price as install only.
Supply By and Install By columns. Free-issue and “by others” items drop out of the totals automatically.
A scope of work under every bill and a reference documents line under every section, plus a drawing register sheet.
Cost by area or building on the Summary.
Pricing checks flag lines with a quantity but no rate before you issue or submit.
Contingency, tax and tender sum carry to a signed tenderer’s declaration on the cover.

Works with the rest of the set

I/O module quantities come straight from the Tender and Claim Control System I/O Counter, which sizes cards, spares and remote I/O stations per panel and controller. For the field side, pair it with the Instrumentation BOQ.
